On the 20th October 2012 my life changed for the better, I became the very proud and blessed owner of two rescue dogs; Wire Fox Terriers called Poppy and Benji, age 6 and 7. Two bundles of joy and love bounded into my life and instantly became the centre of my universe – my fur kids. They had spent all of their life's together so naturally I took them both in, it would have been heart breaking to separate them. As I write this, my heart is breaking, for Poppy passed away suddenly on 29th June. To say I am devastated is an understatement; both Benji and I are lost without her. She gave us unconditional love and support, laughter and fun. She was my best friend and part of me has died with her. She was such a loving, caring dog, so full of life and energy. I am truly grateful for the time we shared together albeit too short. She was beautiful, inside and out. She loved a cuddle, always wanted a fuss and her chest rubbed and I was always happy to oblige. I use to blow on her face and she would go all silly rubbing and burrowing her head in me. She loved the snow, she would charge through it dipping her head in it as she ran so excited through it. At the water park she would run in and out of the water like a crazy thing - she was so funny. Her favourite trick was getting in her water bowl and throwing the water out then coming up to me with a wet beard for a kiss, I'd give anything for another wet kiss from my precious Poppy. She had a heart attack. Her little heart was so full of love and it beat so fast with excitement for life that it gave out early. She was always on the go, she was my shadow & would follow me everywhere. She would wake any time between 4.30 and 5.30 and I would hear her tip toeing around. Eventually she would jump on me and wake me up. The silence she has left behind is unbearable, oh how I miss those tiny feet tip tapping around, and that morning bark for her breakfast. Rest in peace Popsey, thank you for gracing our lives and for all the happy memories, love you always. See you at Rainbow Bridge Poppy xxxxxxxxxxx
